RESTORATIVE YOGA
is a type of yoga known for its relaxing, calming and healing effect. It has its roots in the yoga of B.K.S. Iyengar, who developed a yoga that allows students to practice without any strain or pain. This was developed into a style of yoga which was considered ideal for those recovering from injuries or illness.
Restorative Yoga is all about slowing down and opening the body through passive stretching. During the long holds of restorative yoga your muscles are allowed to relax deeply. It is a unique feeling because props, rather than your muscles, are used to support your body. When we feel supported, we are more inclined to relax and release long held tension. This is a perfect complement to continue the healing work I do with so many of you and I look very much forward to sharing this healing experience with you.
Class sizes are very small with no more than 4 to 6 participants. This allows my classes to be very hands on as I guide you adding props and adjustments, massage and stretching techniques, Reiki and aromatherapy into each meditative class. And each class ends with a guided meditation experience.
These 90 minute Classes run every other Wednesday evening from 6:00 - 7:30 PM AND monthly on Saturday Mornings (see schedule) If you have a group of 6-8 people and would like to schedule a class at another time, please feel free to call and discuss options. Within 20 miles of my office I am also available to do house calls for a minimum of 10 people. Feel free to call to discuss options.
